Our Story

Pushing Past PMDD began as an Instagram page dedicated to raising awareness and sharing information about Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD). Founded in 2019 by Madison Ashworth, a passionate advocate and PMDD warrior, the Instagram page rapidly evolved into a global organization committed to supporting individuals in need of resources, connection, and community.

As Madison's Instagram following grew, she recognized the increasing demand for a supportive community. She initiated group chats to foster connections among individuals with PMDD and later expanded to hosting virtual meetings via Google Meet. Motivated by the positive response, Madison became certified in peer support and established a peer support program, transforming casual interactions into meaningful connections.

With over 100 individuals seeking peer support, Madison formalized the growing community into a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, Pushing Past PMDD. Today, we offer comprehensive resources, advocacy, and education, continually striving to empower and support those affected by PMDD.

Our Mission

Pushing Past PMDD empowers individuals with premenstrual disorders through peer support, life-saving resources, education, and relentless advocacy. We build community, fight stigma, and prevent suicide so no one has to face PMDD alone.

We envision a future where every person with a premenstrual disorder receives timely diagnosis, equitable care, and unwavering support. No more stigma. No more silence.
